Full disclosure; I'm TERRIBLE at crafting and I’ve always been bothered by it. I’m that person that goes to the crafting parties and does the “easy” craft and it never ends up looking right. This year I was determined to not let my lack of crafting skills hold me back. My game plan; find an easy yet adorable handmade holiday craft AND figure out how to order everything online because walking into craft stores can be OVERWHELMING! Lucky for me I discovered JOANN Fabric and Craft Store website! Not only do they have pages and pages of fun handmade holiday projects, they also have all the supplies needed that you can order right from the website! MIRACLES DO HAPPEN.
So today’s blog post is for YOU. Whether you’re super crafty or riding the crafting struggle bus, you can make this adorable wreath!
Here’s What you’ll need:
Scissors
Wire cutters
Hot Glue Gun
Glue
Frosted Berry Pinecone Greenery (2) & Pine Berry (2)
Pins or tape
Ribbion 1 1/2 x 21’ Red Ribbon (1)
18’ Burlap-wrapped wreath (1)
The most amazing thing about this project is you can make it your own! Feel free to follow the steps or get creative and follow them loosely. I do HIGHLY recommend grabbing all your crafting goodies from JOANN Fabric and Craft Store! All their products high quality and I was able to instantly grab each item needed for this particular project making the entire process that much easier!
How To:
*Wrap, Wrap, Wrap That Wreath:
Using your hot glue gun, glue one end of your ribbon to the back of the wreath making sure the edges go in the same direction as the burlap wreath. Continue spiraling and glueing your ribbon around the burlap wreath until it’s covered. Finish the spiral on the back of the wreath.
*Throw Some Floral On It:
Adding the floral and greenery is where the fun really begins! Feel free to get creative and branch out any way you choose.
Cut frosted berry pine cone greenery to about 10 stems each. Trim stems to desired length.
After cutting greenery add a small piece of tape or a pin to locate the top center of the wreath.
Begin gluing your floral and greenery on the bottom of your wreath. Add as much or as little as you choose. Go with less for a minimal Christmas feel or add extra for a vibrant and elegant wreath.
*Add Your Hanger:
At this point, your wreath is nearly finished. Cut 3’ length of 1 1/2' red ribbon. Wrap around your wreath measuring about 5’ from the top center of your wreath. Secure by tying a square knot and then hot glue the knot.
AND THAT’S IT! You now have the most beautiful home made wreath!
